Visual Studio 11 And .NET Framework 4.5 Beta To Be Released This FebruaryVisual Studio 11 And .NET Framework 4.5 Beta To Be Released This February

Microsoft has announced that it will release Beta versions of Visual Studio 11 and .NET Framework 4.5 on 29th February, 2012. The Company also has plans to launch the Consumer Preview of Windows 8 OS on the same day as per the news from the press event.

The 4.5 version of .NET Framework helps programmers to develop user-friendly and proficient applications. Microsoft also announced that developers who build services for Windows Server and Windows Azure will get the tools they need to effectively attach all the powers of the Cloud. While on the other hand, Visual Studio 11 provides an integrated and improved developer experience that includes a simplified user interface designed to keep programmers focused on their work and providing easy access to all the tools they may require.

Three major enhancements included in the Beta version of .NET framework 4.5 are –
-    With this framework, the C# and Visual Basic languages will have a built-in support for writing asynchronous code as easily and simply as writing synchronous codes. Also, to help developers handle data complex problems, F# integrates Type Providers to make data access trivial in F# programs and components.
-    Some Enhancements are also done for improving the performance. The common language Runtime has been revamped for better performance especially for server based apps and services. Additions done include – background server garbage collection, multicore background JIT compilation and profile guided optimization. Because of this, apps can now start faster and can run with lower latency.
-    The high quality networking libraries are being added that are already available in .NET for further enabling the development of increasingly connected apps.

Some other improvements include – support for HTML5, developer productivity enhancements in Entity Framework, optimization for mobile apps thru ASP.NET, and much more. In all, .NET Framework 4.5 has new enhanced things for all kinds of developers – developers building apps for clients or building for the cloud.

New features and improvements that are done in Visual Studio 11 are –
-    With Visual Studio 11, Microsoft has reduced the number of default commands present on the toolbars in the user interface. Developers can still access these commands from the drop down menus and also they can add them into the toolbars if desired.
-    It doesn’t allow the use of color within tools except in case user want to use colors for notification or status change purposes.
-    It features a comprehensive search capability by which users can quickly search for what they are looking within the commands, configuration options, tool windows, and open files.
-    With inclusion of new workflow hubs, Visual Studio 11 streamlines the common tasks into one single window.
-    The content of the documents now can be viewed by developers with new Preview Tabs. As a result, developer doesn’t end up with large number of extraneous documents open as a byproduct of common tasks like debugging or browsing results.

In addition to these improvements, Visual Studio 11 also includes the support for Windows 8 and Web Development. Microsoft is all set to release .Net Framework 4.5 Beta and Visual Studio 11 Beta and is also working hard to ensure that most of the apps are compatible with them.
