The Secret Of Your Skin LighteningThe Secret Of Your Skin Lightening

Skin blemishes like dark spots, freckles and melasmas are the facial trouble that no girl wants to face. If you are encountering them, do not be panic or worried but opt for the products with ingredients as mentioned below.

- Vitamin C
It is now being popular for skin lightening. It works better if used approximately 10% together with AHA acids such as lactic acid and mandelic acid. But Vitamin C can be easily disappeared by the reaction of UVA and pollutions. So it is more effective to use with Vitamin E.

- Kojic Acid
It is a by-product in the fermentation process of malting rice, for use in the manufacturing of sake. Kojic acid can be effective for inhibiting melanin production, but it is an unstable ingredient which makes it lose efficacy when exposure to sunlight or air.

- Licorice Extract
It has the great property in inhibiting the production of melanin better than Vitamin C and Kojic Acid as well as functioning well in absorbing UV radiations.

- Paper Mulberry
It inhibits the enzyme called tyrosinase which creates skin pigmentation. Therefore, Paper Mulberry extract is always formulated in the products for melasma treatment. The researches also indicated that it is more potent than Kojic Acid, Vitamin C, and Hydroquinone and, furthermore, provides antioxidant agent.

- Lemon Peel
The lemon peel comprises of more than 150 types of essential oils which have great properties in toning skin and reducing melasmas.

- Tretinoin
Many researches revealed that tretinoin can be used to effectively treat skin color changes like stretch marks or dark spots, but it needs to take at least 6 months to see the positive change. So, it is generally not recommended to use this acid form solely. It can work better if used with other kinds of skin care products as it plays an important role in generating the new cells growth and increasing the production of skin collagen and elastin. It is then great for combating against sun damage and wrinkly skin.

- Alpha Hydroxy Acid
It is generally assumed that AHA in concentrations of 4% to 10% is not effective for inhibiting melanin production nor lightening skin. However, if combined with other treatment like kojic acid, hydroquinone, or laser, it can indeed inhibit melanin production and restore sun damaged skin.

- Azelaic Acid
This acid comes from grains such as wheat and barley and it has been shown to be very effective at helping to treat acne. However, many researches indicated that it is much more irritated to skin than hydroquinone. But this Azelaic acid can be the option for skin pigment and dark spots treatment.

It is naturally found in pears and cranberries. It is believed to be the most efficient way to get rid of various types of skin discoloration because it is able to reduce pigmentation by inhibiting melanin. Arbutin is therefore used as a skin-lightening agent. However, it is not commonly used as the stable amount in cosmetics use is not yet assured.
