Belief Is The Only KeyBelief Is The Only Key

Even if you haven't read the book or seen the movie you must have heard of "The Secret." In the book the writer is talking about willing things to happen and the law of attraction. He explains the law of attraction like this: If you live your life thinking and expressing that you need something, this is a negative thing and it will attract negativity. Therefore you will continue needing that thing (it may be love, money, health.) So what you must do is to change the way you think and start to live thinking, "I will get that thing", which is a positive state of mind and it will attract whatever you need. I don't want to write all about those concepts and I respect everyone believing or not believing the things written in that book. All I want to say is, for achieving personal goals, positive thinking makes a person more alert and more aware of his or her surroundings and the things about law of attraction and power of thought can be explained by the self belief of a person.

Our magic word here is belief. "Men are not created to fly." What do you think about this statement? When the speed of first automobile exceeded 30 miles per hour, some people thought "high speeds" were bad for human health. What do you think about this belief? If you accept something to be unchangeable you can't change it. When scientists discovered and proved the presence of atoms they said, this is the smallest particle possible. Now we know there are smaller particles in the nature. If a belief is settled, there is not many things to change the thing that is believed.

If we return to everything we said about The Secret, New Age and law of attraction, to be able to say that you will get something, you must first believe that you can get it. If you believe you can do something, then you naturally can't do it. When setting your goals, at first you must set goals that you believe you can achieve. The next step is to start to believe you can reach higher places. Some people earn millions of dollars yearly. What is your difference from them? Do they have two brains? Do they have four legs? Is having four legs or two brains enough to earn millions. No they are not so different then you or me. The only difference is that, they didn't believe in failure. They didn't say "I can't do that." They believed in success and they always said "I can do it."

This is of course not the solution to all of your problems. There are many people who believe they can do something all through their lives without being successful. That is because they didn't make plans or didn't try hard enough. The second enemy of success is giving up your dreams. Whatever happens, you must get up and keep fighting until you achieve your goals. Achieving personal goals needs resistance; just like the lyrics of "The Hours" song "Ali in the Jungle": "Everybody gets knocked down. How quicker you gonna get up?"
