If you are hounded with concern over the apparent loss of your hair due to certain health conditions, stress, medications or genetics, you'll still have that proverbial "light ahead of the tunnel". Various kinds of treatments are now offered to answer to your hair concerns. But how do you figure out about which ones to choose?

There is a plethora of non-surgical hair replacement treatments or you could choose hair transplantation- whatever suits your head.
This article will give you the pros and cons between the two approaches and hopefully will have you enlightened and more knowledgeable about the presented options.

Non-Surgical Hair Replacement

As the name speaks for itself, these are non-surgical methods that are used in order to either treat or mask hair loss. It can be in the form of wigs, toupees, drugs, laser treatments, or natural methods.

• It is not as costly as surgical procedures, which makes it readily available to anyone.
• Wigs and toupees can help you mask baldness instantly.
• It is non-invasive, which is good for those of you who are squirmish.
• Going for a more natural or organic method such as herbs or natural vitamins are safer.

• A toupee or a wig doesn't guarantee a more natural look. It is also at risk of flying off if you're not cautious enough.
• Some drugs have adverse effects, which also include hair loss.
• Hair growth and production could stop when intake is also halted.
• The results are more gradual and would take longer than a hair transplant.

Hair Transplant

This can be done in two ways, FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) which is basically transferring hair follicles from a donor area to spot that is balding.

• The effects are permanent.
• If done right and successfully, the new hair will grow in a natural manner the same as the ones around it.
• There is no need for any hair loss supplement that you need to take on a daily basis.
• You can have improved self-esteem, relationships and confidence with your new set of hair.
• The procedure is painless and you can resume normal activities the following day.

• It can be costly, that is why those who can afford it are the ones who can actually get it.
• If not done right and with proper expertise the outcome could not appear as desired.
• You need to have a reliable surgeon to do it, if you don't want to run the risk of developing infections or mediocre results.
• The transplanted hair would still go through a process where it sheds off first, before a new hair grows in its place.
• The results are yet to be seen after a period of time, usually a couple of months to a year at most.

In deciding on the kind of treatment that you want to combat your hair loss problem, weigh in your options carefully. Look at all repercussions before coming up with a final decision. Good knowledge about the pros and cons, whether it is a natural method or hair transplant surgery, this will help you come up with an informed decision.
