The cosmopolitan city of Mumbai has its own share of darkness. There are places in this city and stories related to it that send chills to your spine. Irrespective of whether you believe in ghosts or not, the stories associated with certain places can scare the hell out of you. If you have come to visit Mumbai and want to explore the spooky side of the city, then here are seven places you can visit:

1. St. John’s Baptist Church

If you are staying in the Hotels in Andheri East, you must visit the St John’s Baptist church. There are various stories of a bride tormenting the people living around the church by screeching and screaming and then making a splashing sound in the nearby pond killing all the fishes.

2. Mukesh Mills

Mukesh Mills was a textile factory in the British era destroyed by a fire in 1870. This place has been a shooting venue for many Bollywood horror flicks. The tales of sad and scary stories has kept out people from visiting this place after sunset.

3. Sanjay Gandhi National Park

The biosphere reserve Sanjay Gandhi National Park known for its dense forests and old caves has lots of mystery around it. From local people, forest guards to trekkers, everyone claims to have seen a female hitchhiker obstructing the path of travelers and then vanishing into the air.

4. Poonam Chambers

This building is rumored to have ghosts formed from the Mumbai blasts of 1993 and collapsing of B wing wall in 1997. People living and working here claim to have heard screams and rattling sounds of doors in the midnight.

5. Tower of Silence

Located in the Malabar Hills, Tower of Silence is a site where Persis leave the dead bodies of their fellow community members for the vultures. The rancid smell of the dead bodies along with complete silence adds to the eeriness.

6. Aarey Milk Colony

This 10sq km stretch and have many tales of scary incidents. From white saree wearing woman asking for a lift to disappearing of the old man and even sound of crying babies out of nowhere, this place is said to host many paranormal activities.

7. Road to Marve and Madh Islands

According to myths around here, a girl was murdered and dumped in the adjoining mangrove forests. Local witnesses and travelers taking this road have claimed to have seen her in her bridal dress asking for help by stopping vehicles.
