The chronic stress has physical effects potentially causing dangerous illnesses like cardiovascular problems and cancer. When we choose not to exercise, it results in accumulation of years of stress. However, when we regularly exercise, it helps us release the tension instead of letting it accumulate. A person under stress will have stiffened muscles resulting in headaches, musculoskeletal problems, and migraines. Similarly, stress can potentially damage our digestive system’s ability to digest food. Exercise helps us better digest food, and reduce the chances of developing various health disorders.

Stress is not just bad for the health. The science behind stress reflects on the fact that it starts impacting the entire body functions. When we are undergoing stressful situations in life, our body releases certain chemicals. These chemicals include norepinephrine, epinephrine, and dopamine. These hormones contribute to physiological changes in our bodies. Thus, the release of these hormones results in an increase in blood pressure, a weak immune system, and increased heart rate. Furthermore, it may lead to other ailments that can have an adverse impact on our overall health and wellbeing.

Techniques to Help Overcome Stress

Exercise certainly plays a role in helping our body fight these stress signs. However, we may also use meditation to relax your mind and body. Meditation creates in us a sense of compassion and honesty. We can develop a more objective view of the world. It helps us overcome the patterns of thinking that can lead to stress and emotional instability. Thus, motivation helps us connect with our inner-self and find the peace missing in our lives.
