Inbound Vs Outbound Marketing - Which One To Chose?Inbound Vs Outbound Marketing - Which One To Chose?

Today’s customers are much more knowledgeable about the services and products they would want to choose. Therefore, as a brand, it has to be seen at correct places at the right time and to the correct audience to get a way to the customers mind. Thus, when it comes to marketing, be it for products or services, one has to work out to get the most effective way such that more number of orders are placed.

It is not surprising that brands actually get confused so as to which marketing approach is to be chosen such that it could turn out to be the best for them. This is majorly because of the advancements in World Wide Web as there are more than just one marketing method they could use. It is possible to either chose inbound or outbound or the combination of both such that more number of orders are placed.

What is an inbound marketing?

Inbound marketing is an approach of marketing where brands help themselves to be chosen by customers though paid and unpaid search engine marketing techniques. It includes blogs, podcasts, e-newsletters, whitepapers, SEO, social media marketing, video marketing, e-books and other forms of content marketing.

What is outbound marketing?

Contrary to the above, outbound marketing is the activity which includes attending seminars, trade shows, radio and television marketing, cold calling, printed advertisements, email marketing, spamming and other means of traditional marketing. In other forms it is nothing but broadcasting messages to the target audience.

Benefits of Inbound Marketing:

  • Increases the traffic to website.
  • Cost-effective when compared to outbound marketing.
  • Customers come to the brand rather than the brand going to customers. Thus, gives quality customers.
  • Gives an overview of the product over the internet making the chances to get it viral easily.
  • Easy to track ROI and outcome from the same.

Benefits of Outbound Marketing:

  • Provides an opportunity to target audience in mass
  • It has more probability of lead generation as in this case one can have a face to face conversation from the prospects.
  • Helps in building a story to your brand.

Hence, we can say that for lead generation we need an effective marketing strategy. Both inbound and outbound marketing can be used to build an effective strategy. Organizations give 90% of their budget to outbound marketing and only 10% to inbound, this ratio when changed can lead to a lot of success and in mere future this ratio is going to change as the customers today have migrated to the world of internet.
