What Is Everywhere Security? What Is Everywhere Security?

Every second saved during an unexpected attack or life threatening medical emergency is the difference between life or death. A new type of security is aiming to take the unexpected and prepare everyone with a device that hangs from a keychain and is no taller than an iPhone. So what is EVERYWHERE SECURITY?

EVERYWHERE SECURITY is a new form of personal safety that is on pace to disrupt the home security and PERS industry. Everywhere security is for both medical and safety alert response. Typically a service is used for only one or the other, causing some families to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars each year on home security and medical alert services. Plus, medical alerts are not just for the elderly. Medical situations are often unexpected and there are many people living with conditions, such as diabetes. Also, Campus security is one of the biggest areas where an EVERYWHERE SECURITY system can be advantageous for both authorities and students.

There are three components to an EVERYWHERE SECURITY SOLUTION

•The Trigger: a device that can initiate the chain reaction of alert, protection, and identification

•The Connector: an interface such as a mobile app with a data connection that receives the trigger alert signal and contacts the central station monitoring service

•The Central Station: a call center or remote monitoring service that receives the medical or safety alert and contacts the proper authorities on behalf of the user.

American women and men are worried about their safety and personal protection, and for good reason.

Statistics provided by the Department of Defense and the Violence Policy Center show equally alarming rates of weapon-related crimes versus reports of preventative self-defense measures taken, with criminals coming out unquestionably on top. Global 2013 surveys have shown us that one in three women are victimized by violent and criminal behavior during their lifetime. The Bureau of Justice Statistics report that since 2004 hate crimes based on ethnicity have experienced a staggering 22% increase.

Men and women alike are advised to plan their outings around personal safety and to notify the authorities immediately when a threat is encountered, at home or while they are out.

Only 17% of US homes have security systems installed, but a reported 58% of Americans own and use a smart phone. Security systems use a phone line to contact a call center automatically, but until recently there was no solution that provided immediate threat protection without adding an additional step of confirmation before the authorities were called. The authorities can't always show up in time to be helpful when the report has to pass through so many stages, in the meantime leaving the victim unprotected and at risk.

In the "Internet of Things" many technologies have been created that almost fit the bill, but until recently none had the necessary fluidity of use that make it a smart solution when the victim is scared, frantic, or on the move. Wearable tech was still in its fledgling stages, waiting for a breakthrough that connected the need for quick notification to the authorities with nonlethal self-defense that is discreet, affordable, and provides everywhere security.
